100 R-Controlled Vowel Word Printable Flashcards PreK – 4th
R-controlled vowels can be tricky. They are difficult to spell. They need a lot of practice. Using flashcards introduces good study habits.
How to use the flashcards?
There are many ways using the cards. You can use anyway that works the best for your child. But if you are not sure where to start, here is a simple way to start:
- PreK and K:
- Start small by reading the combined letters to your child everyday
- After they are familiar with combined letters, you can read the words on the back to your child and ask her/his to repeat.
- The key is consistency! Do it everyday until he or she can read those words on himself/herself.
- Grade 1-4:
- Start the same way as PreK-K.
- Depending on your child, you can move or slow.
- After they know how to read the words well, you can move to spelling and writing
- The important key is repetition. Repeats the words kids don’t know everyday until he or she comfortable with it.

- If you don’t have index cards, you can print on normal paper and cut them out. (Print both side)
