I remember when I was first pregnant with my first child, the only thing I asked my friends for the baby shower was books. I was sincerely asking them to help me to build a small library for my first child because I grew up in Vietnam where books were very limited. When I came here, I went straight to college and didn’t remember that I bought a lot of books but college books. Children’s books were my start.
Until 3 years ago, I slowly built a parenting library for myself. As frustrated as I have been, I am grateful to my son who has the most super high energy, is on the move non-stop, is the loudest one in the room, wakes up at 5am and storms to our bedroom like a terror, and is the smart kindest kid. To understand him, support, and appreciate him for the person he is, I have learnt a tremendous amount of knowledge about how kids are wired differently. Without him, I don’t think I dug any deeper but stopped at Potty Training and Healthy Sleep Habits for Children.
The list below is dear to my heart. I have read them a couple of times and many more times in the future.
