100 Field Trip Ideas for Homeschool
Last month before Lunar New Year (Tet in Vietnamese), I took my kids out and about to get some Tet’s decorations for the house. It was a last-minute trip, but I have learnt that field trips was a great way for kids to learn while taking a break from routine at home. Instead of going the Eden Center like many other times, I turned it into a field trip for my kids. My 6 years old boy learnt how to order his own food and pay with his own money. You can learn more what we learnt here.
Field trips have many benefits to children in general. It is even more important for homeschooling kids’ learning process. It lets them get out of the house and pursue learning opportunities in the larger worlds. It gives kids a chance to interact with new people, places and objects. It is a real-world learning opportunity for kids. Field trips help kids seeing things outside of textbooks, TV shows, or videos. They get new experiences. In addition, field trips are a great way to add variety to homeschool and a great way to break up the routine of school.
The lists below are the field trips ideas to keep your kids engaged and active. Please feel free to share with my audiences if you have any field trip tips or free download field trip worksheets.

Documenting and taking notes of your trips are helpful for future because you can reuse the ideas again or even share with others. Writing a blog post about our Lunar New Year field trip was helpful for me because I learnt about my mistakes and tips for a better trip next time. But the most important thing is I take this opportunity and share with other homeschooling families. I have learnt from other moms that ask your kids to write about their trips as documenting is a great way to make the trip even more educational.
